The reading panel for the TLC Pen Factor Writing Competition 2019 have now finalised a longlist and shortlist. We are delighted to have had so many fantastic entries this year, and thank all the writers sending their work in.
The five shortlisted writers will pitch their work this coming Saturday 22nd June at our sold-out Writers’ Day to a panel of live-pitch judges: literary agents Nelle Andrew (PFD), Jo Unwin (JULA). Harry Illingworth (DHH), and Susan Yearwood (Susan Yearwood Literary Agency). The judges will decide on a winner, who will receive a writing development first place prize worth over £1,000. Previous finalists and longlistees include OCM Bocas-longlisted Fawzia Kane, WH Smith Fresh Picks selection Piers Alexander, and Neema Shah and Abi Daré, who this year announced significant debut book deals with Picador and Sceptre respectively.
