Penny Pepper Fundraises for Punk Rock Memoir on Unbound

TLC Free Read bursary recipient and Quality Writing for All advocate Penny Pepper has started a campaign to raise funds to publish her extraordinary memoir First in the World Somewhere via Unbound, the innovate crowd-sourcing publishing platform that brought award-winning novel The Wake into being. Unbound was founded by John Mitchinson, director of research for the British panel game QI, to whom TLC introduced Penny following a short mentorship and work through the bursary scheme on her writing. About her experience with TLC, Penny has been kind enough to share a few words:

‘First in the World Somewhere is now live on crowdfunding publisher Unbound! I’m at this wonderful junction as a writer due to the consistent support from TLC, who have supported my work through the Free Read bursary programme and the hosting of my show Lost in Spaces for the launch of their Arts Council-backed Quality for All Campaign. Recognising the difficulties I faced as a writer from a excluded sector, the launching of the memoir shows TLC are on point with this campaign to attract more diversity to literature. I’m excited and I’m grateful to TLC and to anyone who feels they can pledge to buy the book to take this journey further.’

To pledge to the campaign, and to see the full list of rewards, please see Penny’s page on the Unbound website here.
