Nathan Filer wins Costa Book of the Year Award

Nathan Filer Costa Win

TLC reader (and former client) Nathan Filer was named last night as the winner of the Costa Book of the Year Award, one of the world’s richest literary prizes. Nathan’s win saw him fight off stiff competition from bookies’ favourite Kate Atkinson (Life After Life). His is the first debut novel to win the prize since 2006. Head of the judges Rose Tremain called the winning book “astonishingly sure-footed”. The Shock of the Fall tells the story of Matthew, a young schizophrenic man struggling to come to terms with the mysterious death of his younger brother.

For TLC Nathan reads contemporary commercial and literary fiction.
