Looking after yourself as a writer
Understanding how our brains work, how our nervous systems are triggered and learning how to emotionally self-regulate helps us reduce feelings of overwhelm and teaches us how to take care of ourselves. Through a variety of fun and absorbing exercises, ranging from meditation and mindfulness techniques, to practices based on the latest neuroscience research, we will learn useful tools for daily life including emotional self-regulation and breathing techniques, quietening the inner critic and how to create their own personal cheerleading troupe! By the end of the workshop writers will have practical tools to reduce anxiety, stress and calm an overactive mind, leaving the workshop with a greater sense of peace, resilience, and confidence. This session is led by accredited coach Dominique de Light.
