Katherine Mezzacappa is an Irish writer living in Italy. As Katie Hutton, she writes commercial historical fiction (Zaffre Books) and as Kate Zarrelli, romance and erotica (Romaunce Books). In 2024 she will publish two literary historical novels with Fairlight and with Addison & Highsmith (Histria) under her own name. Her short fiction has appeared in literary and commercial journals worldwide and in anthologies. Katherine has been awarded two residencies, by the Danish Centre for Writers and Translators and by the Irish Writers Centre. She is a member of the Society of Authors, the Irish Writers Centre, the Irish Writers Union, the Historical Writers Association, the Historical Novel Society (for which she is a regular reviewer and was one of the organisers of the 2022 conference) and the Romantic Novelists Association (she is an assessor on the RNA’s New Writers Scheme). Katherine has a Masters in Creative Writing from Canterbury Christ Church, an MLitt in Eng Lit from Durham and a first degree in History of Art from UEA. She is represented by Annette Green Authors’ Agency.
