Kerry Hudson was born in Aberdeen. Her first novel, Tony Hogan Bought Me an Ice-Cream Float Before He Stole My Ma was published by Penguin Random House and was the winner of the Scottish First Book Award and shortlisted for the Southbank Sky Arts Literature Award, Guardian First Book Award, Green Carnation Prize, Author’s Club First Novel Prize and the Polari First Book Award. Kerry’s second novel, Thirst, was shortlisted for the Green Carnation Prize and was in 2015 longlisted for France’s prestigious Prix Femina.

Kerry was selected as a Bookseller 2014 ‘Rising Star’ and a WH Smiths 2015 ‘Fresh Talent’ pick. Her books are also published in the US, France and Italy. Kerry founded The WoMentoring Project and teaches with the National Academy of Writing at Cambridge University, Arvon Foundation, Writers’ Centre Norwich and mentored for IdeasTap Inspires.
