Jon Barton is a multidisciplinary author and screenwriter, across fiction, scripts, and screenplays. He studied for an MA in Dramaturgy and Script Development at University of Exeter and is an alumni of Curtis Brown Creative. His first novel, Dive, was published in January 2023. Jon works freelance as a reader and editor for TLC, BFI, and independent production companies with a focus on genre-led storytelling. He teaches screenwriting for young people at Iconic Steps, The Princes Trust, and Lambeth Adult Learning. He also teaches creative writing for City Lit and City Academy. His plays have toured the UK and played at London venues including Almeida and Old Vic, and his TV credits include episodes of Holby City. He co-writes screenplays with filmmaker Isaac Tomiczek.
