Booking for TLC’s ‘Get a Job in Publishing’ course, taking place across the weekend of April 21st – 22nd at the Free Word Centre in London is now open and tickets are already selling well. No qualifications are required to attend this course, and it is open to those with no previous publishing experience, as well as those who are considering a career-change later in life, or those already working in publishing but wanting to learn more about how the industry works and the specifics of what’s required to work in each department of a publishing house. This course will help participants understand the UK publishing industry from every angle; its economics, its disciplines and career paths, its rewards and challenges. It will also equip them with all the practical tactics they need to get a job in the industry, from CVs and interviews to internships. Designed by the Book Skills Collective, this dynamic course will have a practical focus, and features sessions led by course convenors Jason Bartholomew, Jessica Killingley and James Spackman, alongside high-level industry guest speakers.
