TLC Welcomes Rebecca Lloyd as Quality Manuscript Officer

We are delighted to welcome Rebecca Lloyd to the team at TLC. Rebecca will be working in a freelance capacity to support a more bolstered approach to our Quality Manuscript liaison work, working with writers who have come through TLC’s manuscript assessment and mentoring services who have been flagged by their TLC reader/mentor as having real commercial potential. She will liaise with TLC’s Editorial Services Manager Aki Schilz, who currently handles this aspect of our business and works closely with a large number of literary agents to, where possible, support these writers onwards to publication.

Rebecca brings an impressive background in publishing to bear on her new and exciting work with TLC, having worked in rights and editorial at Poetry Wales Press (now Seren), HarperCollins (where she worked for ten years before eventually commissioning for the Flamingo list, bringing in authors including Louisa Young and Rhidian Brook), Reed Publishing Group, managing an independent bookshop and working in association with Cowbridge Book Festival and Beyond the Border Festival, and most recently working as a senior editor at Accent Press, where she set up a YA list, before making the decision to go freelance. She now works with Firefly Press and new imprint The Dome Press, among others.

We have recently signed an exciting SFF novel and a literary memoir up to agents, adding to our roster of Success Stories. We are currently also working with a number of talented writers and their manuscripts, whom we hope to find homes for in the near future.

If you are a literary agent and would like to hear more about this aspect of our work, or about any of our current Quality Manuscript writers, please get in touch with Aki in the first instance, at
