Granta Magazine in association with the Literary Consultancy provided an an intimate publishing event on the evening of January 13th at the Free Word centre. Granta Magazine is a wonderful, long-established publication dedicated to new writing. Their latest edition is on the important theme of ‘Work’ . Most of us spend more time at work than anywhere else, but are our lives defined by the work we do? Do our jobs reflect our passions and personality or are they just a means to an end, a necessary evil to pay for the weekends?In this lively evening of debate, Granta magazine contributors, Aminatta Forna, Peter Stothard and Nicola Monaghan discussed the subject and the pieces they have written for the new issue of Granta, tackling the subject of WORK with Guardian Columnist Madeleine Bunting (author of Willing Slaves – How the Overwork Culture is Ruling Our Lives).
