The Art of the Short Story

August 13 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

The Art of the Short Story

A good short story can convey an entire world in just a few thousand words and will continue to reverberate in the reader’s mind long after the last sentence. But how is that achieved? In this masterclass, join prize-winning writer and editor Vicky Grut as we consider the key ingredients for creating short fiction that sings. What kind of material works and what does not? Where do you begin and how do you end? Learn techniques in concision that will help you hone your short fiction skills as well as sharpening all of your writing.

This workshop will include practical exercises, so please bring writing materials.
