Anna Jean Hughes has been editing and publishing books for over fifteen years. There was a brief fling with the Erotic Review, a minor assignation with Condé Nast and a long and complicated relationship with Penguin Random House. She then swapped sides and went to see how the other half lived at prominent literary agency, Peter Fraser & Dunlop. In 2014, she jacked in the traditional and went rogue by setting up The Pigeonhole – the acclaimed social reading app that has been nominated for the Digital Innovation Awards at the London Book Fair, and for the FutureBook’s Digital Campaign of the Year for its work promoting Ken Follett’s A Column of Fire. In 2015 Anna was named a Bookseller Rising Star and shortlisted the Digital Achiever of the Year. More recently she was responsible for judging, editing and publishing the FutureBook’s first ever short story competition. She now offers editorial services across the industry, working with books of all genres with a particular penchant for literary crossover and book club fiction.
