Ian Wong grew up in Singapore and moved to London in 2011 to pursue a BA in Classical Studies with English at King’s College London. He entered the world of publishing in 2016 as a non-fiction editorial trainee at Weidenfeld & Nicolson, before joining the non-fiction team at Hodder & Stoughton as Editorial Assistant. There he assisted on numerous bestsellers, including Blowing the Bloody Doors Off by Sir Michael Caine and Lady in Waiting by Anne Glenconner. Following his promotion to Assistant Editor he acquired four titles for the list, including Eat, Gay, Love by Calum McSwiggan, which was longlisted for a Polari Prize, and Firmament by Simon Clark. Ian left Hodder & Stoughton in 2021 to pursue an MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies at University College London, and currently works as a bookseller. He speaks Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese and reads both Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and also has a working knowledge of Latin and German.
