Nikki Sheehan is an author, journalist, screenwriter, mentor and teacher. She has published three MG and YA novels, short stories, one biography, two picture books, and her first highly acclaimed adult novel is forthcoming. She has also written poetry, advertising copy, subtitles and a TV comedy script and full-length feature film. Nikki has been shortlisted for, and won many awards, including being twice nominated for the Carnegie medal.

Nikki loves nurturing creativity and has been instrumental in several successful writing careers, working with new and very established authors alike. She believes that there are fundamental misunderstandings about creativity that stop many people from pursuing their creative goals. As well as sharing the tools of the craft, a sensitivity to the psychology at play in the writer’s mind underpins her teaching, and Nikki is proud to have enabled many writers to find enjoyment, satisfaction and success whether their goal is a flash fiction poem, a novel or a movie script.

For TLC Nikki provides mentoring and feedback on books for young people, from picture books to YA crossover, both fiction and non-fiction.

Nikki lives in Brighton and and, aside from her own writing and mentoring, is a Royal Literary Fellow at Sussex University, dog walker, sea swimmer and upbeat lover of life with all its possibilities.

For TLC Nikki reads Middle Grade, Young Adult and General Fiction
