Writing Time

September 18 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

Writing Time

Writing time is tricksy: from managing dual narratives to using flashbacks and flashforwards effectively, right the way through to considering the function of time within your writing at a macro level. In this workshop, we zoom in and consider how to manage time switches from a range of perspectives: structural time switches, where to place them, what they represent, and how to keep the reader invested without pulling them out of the narrative. We’ll look at how to differentiate time within a piece of writing including through format and use of tenses, and we’ll use choice exercises to help embed our learning together.
