Bethan Roberts, author of The Pools, has recently moved from Serpent’s Tail to Chatto & Windus with her new novel, My Policeman. The Pools, assessed by TLC, was published in 2007 and won the Jerwood/Arvon Young Writers’ Award.
Her new novel, My Policeman, is a tragic story set in the late 1950s Brighton. It follows the dual narratives of a couple writing about a man who is at the centre of both their lives. The story is inspired by the life of E.M. Forster and his relationship with his long-time companion Bob Buckingham and his wife.
TLC is delighted to hear about Bethan’s success as a writer. You can check out the whole story in the Booktrade news. By subscribing to Booktrade news, you can receive daily book trade headlines and breaking publishing news by email.
