TLC Client Michelle Kenney in YA Trilogy Deal with HQ

About the Book

Twins Eli and Talia shouldn’t exist.

They’re Outsiders.

Their home is a secret.

Their lives are a secret.

Arafel is secret.

An unexpected forest raid forces Talia into a desperate mission to rescue her family whilst also protecting the sacred Book of Arafel from those who would use it as a weapon. As Talia and her lifelong friend Max enter the dome, she makes some unexpected discoveries, and allies, in the form of rugged Insider August, that will change the course of her life forever.

Talia will stop at nothing to save her family but will she sacrifice her heart in the process?

The Fire Sermon meets Gladiator, this YA debut by TLC writer Michelle Kenney is the start of a new trilogy. Perfect for fans of work by Francesca Haig, Suzanne Collins and Veronica Roth. Book one published with HQ in August 2017. We can’t wait to see it on bookshelves and wish Michelle every success. You can pre-order the book here, and you can read a fantastically useful blog by Michelle for TLC on the tricky issue of genre, co-written with Lorna Riley, here.

What Michelle Says

“Working with the Harper Collins HQ Digital team on the Book of Fire is a dream come true, and wouldn’t be happening without the belief of key individuals who’ve helped shape my adventure so far. The TLC team, and Aki Schilz in particular, have been incredibly supportive; providing critical advice, blogging opportunities and all-round valuable confidence, a real lifeline to aspiring writers such as myself. Book of Fire is a YA dystopian thriller with a medieval mystery at its heart, and I can’t wait to get started on the next exciting instalment.”
