After Canon Tales participant author Mike Carey’s hugely successful live webchat session for the Guardian, we’re delighted that another TLC Conference speaker, Mark Thwaite of ReadySteadyBook, will be contributing a blog on the Guardian website next Monday June 9th, just five days before the start of our 3-day literary bonanza.
Claire Armitstead, the Guardian‘s Literary Editor and our media partner, will be chairing a panel about the current state of the publishing industry at our Conference weekend, and is keen to encourage conversation in advance about our key themes. As the Founding Editor of ReadySteadyBook (“a significant contribution to serious writing about serious writing”) Mark’s specialism is book reviewing, and he will be discussing the role of the book reviewer in a market where the roles of writer and reader are changing, and the dynamic between them shifting.
We have a few spaces left at the Conference (June 13th-15th) and we hugely look forward to welcoming you to listen to Mark and our other industry speakers over two days of curated talks and a Bonus Day of practical workshops, one-on-one sessions and a Writer’s Fair. If you are interested in Sunday-only tickets, we do now have a small quota on sale. Email for details, and for the full conference book here.
*Five 25% discounted Conference passes will be available on a first-booked first served basis via this upcoming Guardian blog, so do keep an eye out for it on June 9th.
