Our next Literary Adventure holiday will be September 7th-13th 2019. Tutor Romesh Gunesekera. Programme details here. Do call 020 7324 2563 (weekdays 10am-5.30pm) or email with any queries.

TLC’s Literary Adventure at Casa Ana in Andalucia offers the opportunity of a luxury writing holiday in a unique setting at the stunning Casa Ana and is exceptional value, with single occupancy rooms starting at £795*.  There are 10 rooms available at Casa Ana. Please see Accommodation for full room information including a pricing structure and photographs.

The cost covers all tuition and workshops from the UK’s leading literary consultancy, two world-class 3-course evening meals, all breakfasts and picnic menu lunches daily. Flights and transfers are not included, and we will have four evening meals out at local restaurants as a group for which we recommend you budget between 10-20 euro per meal per person. Tea and coffee are provided by Casa Ana, and we will provide Cava with the meal for the group on the first evening. The bus for the (optional) Wednesday excursion will cost a small extra fee.

We will provide an information pack to all participants including details on travel, transport and accommodation recommendation for those coming from or going on to other places, as well as a list of things to bring and other useful information.

*It is possible for friends or a couple to share at reduced rate. Please see Accommodation for information on which rooms are twin rooms available to sharers. Unfortunately it is not possible to accommodate non-participating guests on the Literary Adventure.

Rooms are allotted on a first-come first-served basis. A full description of all of the rooms is available on request per email. For further enquiries or to book please call 020 7 324 2563 or email Aki Schilz on

Flights to and from Malaga are not included in the price but there are several low budget airlines that fly there as well as other airlines. We recommend Easyjet or Monarch which offer early morning flights from Gatwick and Stansted. It is also possible to journey to Casa Ana from Granada.

Getting to Casa Ana

We recommend arrival on the Saturday (the first day of the holiday) to arrive at Casa Ana by no later than 6pm (i.e., with a flight arriving into Malaga before 3pm) for the welcome and evening meal with the group on the terrace. Malaga airport is currently served by a number of airlines including Ryanair, Easyjet, Norwegian Air and British Airways, and flights are now available from London City to Granada. We recommend Skyscanner to find flights and advance booking where possible. The course ends on Friday 16th September after breakfast. Please allow enough time both when arriving and departing, as we cannot be responsible for anybody who does not ensure their own arrival or departure.

We can arrange for taxi sharing for Literary Adventure guests travelling to the house from Malaga or Granada airports, or there are buses that run from the airport to near the house, nearest stop Órgiva or Pitres. The timetable for local buses can be found here in English. Please do check the bus timetable ahead of travelling if taking the bus, as some services run infrequently even in the tourist season.

If you wish to stay overnight the evening before travelling on to Casa Ana, we recommend the Hotel Venecia in Malaga, where Literary Adventure guests have traditionally met for a meal before the journey to the retreat. This is optional, but can be a nice way to meet your fellow participants. Do let us know if you plan to stay the night before, and we can put you in touch with your fellow Adventurers.

Private Car Hire

Ferreirola, the village we are staying in, is small but car parking is available. If you are making your own way to Casa Ana by hired car then please contact Anne Hunt on 0034 958 766 270 or email for details about how to get there by road. We recommend as being well-priced and reliable with a base at Malaga airport.
