PRICING AND BOOKING

N.b., TLC will be hosting our first untutored Literary Adventure March 18-24 2023 at the River Mill in Northern Ireland, with our usual tutored Literary Adventure taking place September 2-8 2023 at Casa Ana in Spain.

Pricing

TLC’s Literary Adventure at Casa Ana in Andalucia offers the opportunity of a premium 6-night writing retreat in a unique setting at the stunning Casa Ana and is exceptional value, with single occupancy rooms starting at just £900 (£695 if sharing a room). TLC has exclusive use of the venue for our Literary Adventure. Please see Accommodation for full room information including a pricing structure and photographs.

The cost covers accommodation, daily workshops, three 3-course evening meals prepared by a chef using local ingredients, all breakfasts and lunches, and mini bus transfers to and from Malaga. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided and refreshed daily by Casa Ana, and you can buy good quality wine by the bottle or glass at the house. The bus for the (optional) Wednesday excursion will cost a small extra fee, and we recommend budgeting around 15-20 Euros for two meals out in the local town.

Booking

Rooms are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. For further enquiries or to book please email Aki Schilz on . If you prefer to call, please phone 0203 751 0757 ext. 800.

Travel

Flights

There are several low budget airlines that service Malaga Airport. Easyjet, Ryanair and British Airways currently offer early morning flights from Gatwick and Stansted. Do check platforms like Skyscanner or Kayak for price comparison of flights from a range of destinations, and we recommend early booking to secure the best price possible.

Getting to Casa Ana

We recommend arrival into Malaga on Saturday, the first day of the Literary Adventure, before 2.00pm to allow you time to join the shared mini-bus from Malaga City Centre. We usually arrange for pick-up between 3 and 3.30pm. To allow for our transfer back on the last day of the holiday, we recommend booking flights that leave at 2.00pm or later from Malaga. Please allow enough time both when arriving and departing, as we cannot be responsible for anybody who does not ensure their own arrival or departure.

If you wish to stay overnight the evening before travelling on to Casa Ana, we recommend the Hotel Venecia in Malaga for a low-cost option, or the AC Hotel Malaga Palacio for more premium accommodation in the city centre. You may wish to look up local Airbnbs as an alternative to hotels. Do let us know if you plan to stay the night before, and we can put you in touch with any fellow Adventurers who might wish to arrange for a group dinner.

Accessibility

Please note this is not suitable terrain for those with significant mobility issues: there is a 15-20 minute walk to the restaurants for our two evening meals out across uneven ground and the region is mountainous. One of the rooms, Room 10, has step-free access and a wide door to its en suite bathroom, and it is possible to stay on site throughout your stay if necessary, though please note this does unfortunately mean missing out on the three group evening meals. If you have specific access requirements please contact us directly and we will put you in touch with the venue.

If at any time after booking up to 90 days before travel we will retain 50% of the full fee. If you cancel between 90-60 days of departure we will retain 75% of the full fee; and within 60-30 days of departure we will retain 90% of the fee. Liability and Insurance/Disclaimer

It is a condition of your booking that you have valid travel insurance. TLC and Casa Ana are not travel agents or flight carriers and cannot take responsibility for flight arrangements, delays, lost baggage or cancellations. From time to time there may be changes to the programme that are beyond our control. Due to tutor cancellation, bad weather, low bookings, or technical failure some activities described may become temporarily or permanently unavailable. Please note that in order for your flights and any other bookings to be covered by your insurance, your policy must be active from the point of booking, not from the point of arrival.

We do not accept liability for any costs incurred as a result of cancellations, delays or changes caused by war, threat of war, closure of airports, civil strife, industrial action, natural disaster, technical problems with transport, or other events beyond our control, medical conditions which may develop during or subsequent to the holiday; loss of, or damage to person or personal property.

We also reserve the right not to travel if we have insufficient bookings. In this instance we will return 100% of your booking fee. Please do not book flights before we have confirmed this with you.
