In this free session, held in association with New Writing North as part of the Northern Writers’ Awards Roadshow, meet professional editor Jacob Ross. Jacob will be talking about the role of the editor, how critical feedback can help develop your writing, and will be workshopping specific editing questions to help you get to grips with your book.

Jacob draws on his experience as an acclaimed creative writing tutor, associate publisher at Peepal Tree Press, and prize-winning novelist, and hosts this session as a TLC Regional Ambassador.

Participants are encouraged to send in their editing queries in advance of the session, and Ashley will select a small handful to look at in detail during the session.

This session is open to writers of all levels. Participation is free, but advance registration is essential.

About the Editor

Jacob Ross is a UK-based Grenadian writer. His critically acclaimed works include Pynter Bender, Song for Simone and A Way to Catch the Dust. His crime fiction novel, The Bone Readers won the inaugural Jhalak Prize in 2017. His latest book Tell No-One About This, a collection of stories written over a span of forty years, was longlisted for the 2018 OCM Bocas Prize.
